WORKERS COMPENSATION
We offer a full range of defense representation with respect to workers compensation matters, including claims that re not covered by insurance such as alleged discrimination under Labor Code §132(a) and claims of Serious and Willful Misconduct under Labor Code § 4553.

SUBROGATION
We represent employers and carriers in subrogation in the civil courts of Northern California. We invite your inquiry with respect to specific claims.

MEDICARE SET-ASIDE ARRANGEMENTS
Each of the attorneys in the firm has undergone extensive training in issues unique to Medicare set aside arrangements. We handle these matters as part of our regular defense of the claim or upon separate referral from either the applicant or the defendant. Read more about Medicare Set-Aside Arrangments.

MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION

Mediation and arbitration are one of our specialties. Mr. Hansen is a retired Presiding Workers Compensation Judge who is frequently called upon to arbitrate coverage and contribution and other issues related to workers compensation claims. Mr. LeClerc has arbitrated numerous workers compensation disputes. In arbitration, our practice is to hear and decide the case in the shortest possible time, thereby minimizing expense to the involved parties.

DISCRIMINATION/HARASSMENT
If an employee has filed a claim against you alleging a violation of the FEHA or federal discrimination statutes, we can help you with a focused investigation of the claim and/or a defense of the claim before the appropriate agencies and courts.

EMPLOYER TRAINING SEMINARS
We provide a range of training services. Included within this is sexual harassment training for supervisors and managers which by law must be completed every two years. We also offer seminars in minimizing risks and adverse consequences associated with workers compensation and discrimination claims. EDD
If you are in receipt of an adverse determination from the Employment Development Department , we are available to advise and assist you with respect to appeal and other possible remedies.

WAGE AND HOUR CLAIMS
Whether filed by the employee or the Labor Commissioner, wage and hour claims contain many hidden pitfalls and potential for penalties, including claimant’s attorneys’ fees and treble damages. If a former employee does file against you, we will be there to protect your interests.

EMPLOYEE HANDBOOKS
We have developed and drafted employee handbooks for a variety of employers. An employee handbook is an invaluable tool for any employer. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs and our recommendations.

CAL-OSHA

Citations from Cal-OSHA are not only expensive but can expose employers to additional liability not covered by insurance. We recommend that all citations be reviewed by counsel to assess the potential for legal challenge.
